It cannot make ice because of the heavy frost. Samsung fridge RF263BEAEBC, 9 years old. I can remove the ice holder bin for now. Is there any benefit to simply pulling out the ice holder bin, laying down some towels and letting it defrost by itself with the fridge doors closed? Or, better said, will this even work? If the forced defrost is my only option then I'll do it but thought I'd ask before I press those buttons.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-47274568968590060802023-12-31T12:49:19.469-07:002023-12-31T12:49:19.469-07:00Doing the bypass, my jeep cranks but won't sta...Doing the bypass, my jeep cranks but won't start Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-63376987371405157742023-12-17T06:02:26.608-07:002023-12-17T06:02:26.608-07:00even in 2023,I'd love to purchase the 717 quic...even in 2023,I'd love to purchase the 717 quick release base plates if anyone has them available! I understand ur saying pretty much any bare IR component will do, but since there's so many out there i'd rather just get one that for sure worked. Now for people who are having the only 1 bucket of ice dropped after resetting ice maker & u've confirmed (using ur cell phone camera) that the IR fill sensor is still good, then pull ur ice bucket out & manually with ur hand turn the auger knob on the back of ice bucket. What was happening with mine (before the IR sensor went out on mie) when i manually turned the auger knob on the back side of the bucket after a few turns the ice would get jammed up so bad, that's when I noticed a hairline crack on backside of the bucket that would just literally split open and shifted the back wall of ice bucket which interrupted IR signal to receiver making ice maker think it was full!! $5,500 P.O.S.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-22006623615891524742023-10-20T15:05:31.280-06:002023-10-20T15:05:31.280-06:00My house is correctly listed on google map and map...My house is correctly listed on google map and mapquest. That was Friday, Sunday icemaker frozen shut. Called Samsung, repairman came out, looked at it, defrosted it and told me he would consider the item defective, Samsung would contact me for replacement.
samsung called and they do not have an agreement with homedepot so I would have to cut the plug off send a photo and they would send me a check for the full amount I paid.
I explained that I needed to use the refrigerator until I get a new one. I started using Plex about 8 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't curse it. It's a shame Emby and Kodi and Seawhatever can't hold a candle to Plex's unrealized potential. I actually almost got a Plex Pass way back when, but after seeing how little the developers care about their product and how they care even less for their PAID users, I don't see it happening. And I love how Plex's fierce defenders are not only the rudest and most sanctimonious people I've encountered (surpassing even the legendary insolence of Linux power users) and they love to tell tall tales of how they've never had a single problem with Plex ever. Even when several dozens of users are having the same issue, requests for help go utterly unanswered, or end up being little more than a depository for incredulous insults to use at family gatherings. Plex advertises itself as simple enough for the everyday user, but even those of us who know our way around an IT department know that Plex is fubar.MBGMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08961046988456338342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-32743862074574972482021-07-04T17:44:58.877-06:002021-07-04T17:44:58.877-06:00Hi all,

I also did not defrost because I was personally sick of doing that. I pressed the reset button on the ice maker after lowering the temperature. Within 24 hours it was making ice again, and still going strong so far. I hope this helps someone. Peace! It still freezes up every few months.

I've taken this apart well over a dozen times do I'm intimately familiar with the internals.

The issue, as someone else pointed out, occurs during the defrost/deice cycle. When the unit heats up to defrost, water drips down and off and also runs down and along the cooling element and goes towards the rear.

When operating correctly, the water should drip off the cooling element eventually into the drip tray and go out the drip tube.

Those two metallic clips that clip onto the heating element are meant to stop the water from running back into the fan area and instead cause the water to drip down.

That doesn't work.

So instead, slowly you form a block of ice in the back above the fan and out the vent hole. Because the vent is now blocked, the ice towards the front of the ice cube storage box melts ever so slightly and the cubes freeze together and you end up getting mush when you try to dispense ice because it grinds the ice.

I'm really not sure how to correct this design flaw. A better defrost design surely would resolve this. Maybe even a longer heating cycle would be better but I don't think so. Fundamentally, the problem is that water is able to run along the top towards the back and form a dome of ice above the fan. This indicates to me that the problem is that the water doesn't drip off.KThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07595689431887554753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-28884136013984265022021-06-10T13:03:46.076-06:002021-06-10T13:03:46.076-06:00The best explanation I got from a salesman about t...The best explanation I got from a salesman about the general problems with any Samsung appliances (fridge, dishwasher, clothes washer and clothes dryer) was the following.
"Samsung sure they are great....just don't add water" Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-61580204296123067252021-04-21T07:17:07.605-06:002021-04-21T07:17:07.605-06:00Very funny and entertaining to read about such a s...Very funny and entertaining to read about such a scam!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4954164004088523382.post-18948839285773718822021-04-13T16:16:59.214-06:002021-04-13T16:16:59.214-06:00I am trouble-shooting my Samsung icemaker issues, ...I am trouble-shooting my Samsung icemaker issues, and I have a random question.
